I got SO MUCH SLEEP.

I went upstairs for a nap at 6:15 or so last night, and no one woke me up, so I slept until 5:30, at which point I both needed to use the bathroom and had a borderline asthma attack because inability to breathe seems to be a side effect of sleeping lately. (It is not so much a repeat of the cold from hell, actually, as a minor cold coupled with a disaster of a sinus infection.) Then I IMed with Jackie for an hour and a half before going back to bed for 2 hours. Yay, I actually made up for my only 2 & 1/2 hours 2 nights ago. And now, I am going to knit like a maniac all day long in hopes of finishing my family's presents.

Obviously, school stuff done. All my assignments in, music final passed (with anywhere between an A and a C, as I've no idea specifically how well or poorly I did. Definitely passed though!) I SURVIVED MY FIRST SEMESTER BACK! I was so terrified that I wouldn't, for awhile. Had there been a repeat of Alfred I probably would've given up on ever going back to school.

5 of you have cards on the way, though I'm betting they won't make it there till the 26th. Everyone for whom I'm doing a general holiday greeting and not a red & green really Christmasy one has longer to wait. School just ate me alive at the end here, and I'm making the cards, so they're a little time consuming.

Yay for surviving school and getting sleep! (I'm getting my share of sleep too. It's so nice.) I hope the cold goes away soon too.

Good luck on finishing the rest of the knitting! And once holiday things calm down... IM baking? Y/Y? I need to figure out what I want to make first. I don't really have much on hand usually.

Thanks! I am being hindered by the fact that my family is underfoot and I'm not in the mood to shut myself up in my room. And yes, baking! I'm making a cranberry cream cheese pie for my brother, and Christmas colored cake for the family, at some point. I'd be open to baking other stuff too afterward, since I think I'll be doing other things at the same time as kitchen escapades during all the holiday craziness.

I think I have a box of brownie mix at home right now, and that is it. I want to do something a little more involved and using a fun recipe if I can. Maybe with food coloring too. =) I... uh, should have thought of that earlier, so I could buy the stuff.

That pie sounds amazing.

<3 I have no idea what I'm doing for our bake session either, so it's okay. I'm trying to think when I can do it. Probably not till Monday or Tuesday, because tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday are all claimed by extended family.

My brother really wanted us to make a cranberry pie. I found that recipe online and it reminded me of my grandpa's apple pie recipe, so I decided to use it. They're both unbaked pies, using pre-baked crust, with a cream cheese/sugar/vanilla layer in the bottom and then the fruit stuff on top of that. So while I've never made homemade cranberry sauce type stuff, or made this particular pie, I'm still relatively comfortable with trying it.

The earliest for me is also Monday, though at some point I'll be seeing Sherlock Holmes with my family. After that, I won't be in any condition to cook. (I don't do well in theaters, sadly, and will feel ill the rest of the day most likely.)

I shall start searching for fun looking things to cook in the meantime and get what I need. =)b
