m_crowley chose:

1. oooooh! / shiny - This is The Singing Ring. From the 10th Kingdom miniseries, it is pretty much the most obnoxious character ever. It will rhyme, annoy you, longs to linger on your true love's finger, and will insult you (also in rhyme) if your proposal is turned down. (No singing ring had ever been turned down before this; they come with a lifetime love guarantee. ...Being proposed to with one of these would probably alone guarantee a refusal in my case.) Also, you just can't get rid of it, even if it's eaten by a fish. This is the default icon of a permanently homeless RP journal.
2. bookworm (tsukino) - I started using an altered version of this image awhile back. Now I'm back to the unaltered; it's from a cover image of Yakitate Japan. Tsukino isn't truly a bookworm, but she was holding a book in this image, and she's 100% adorable, so I still use it frequently.
3. baby hiei will kill you all - This icon is ALL
nadat's fault! She wanted a baby Hiei icon, gave me a couple of text choices, and the result is one of my favorites, visually, of my self-made icons. (Hiei being one of the main characters of Yu Yu Hakusho. He was aware and angry even as a baby. His mother's people threw him off a cliff as an infant, and at the time he had every intention of coming back to kill them all. Frightening even before he got older!)
4. happy / skipping / singing (hachi) - Hachi has been an often-used character in layouts and icons for the extent of my LJ. I'm not sure why; I love her series (Nana) and perhaps it's just that I admire the way Hachi isn't afraid to admit she loves and desperately needs people. She's open with her fangirlish adoration, her crushes, and her friendship and devotion. Also, her need to bake and cook for people is a familiar one. This particular image just makes me unbelievably happy; moods where you want to skip down the street humming or singing are far too rare, and should be treasured.
5. tricia868 - In its original incarnation, this icon was made to go with a banner made using images by an artist who goes by heise on deviantart. Her work is beautiful, and she was my favorite for awhile. The symbol in the middle, since it was made along with the banner, is a reference to part of one of the images. You can find it if you look. And the username? My name, of course, and then the 868 has always been used in my usernames. It refers to my birthday. This icon typically changes color to match whatever layout I'm currently using.
6. tea - This one is mostly uploaded because it made me laugh. The other reason it's on this journal is because while I typically date the opposite gender, I actually find girls slightly more attractive. I'm open with this among friends, but most of the time people don't realize without being told, because none of my same-sex crushes have returned my feelings and so I've never dated another girl. (Which is fine, because they're all wonderful people and I don't hold any grudge over it. Only one of them even knows how much I liked her, and we're still friends.) Having some mention of it here though, even if it is a joking mention, makes me happy.
